I have over forty years experience within the field of psychotherapy, not only as a psychotherapist, but also as a senior consultant psychotherapist, clinical and academic supervisor, researcher and doctoral examiner.
I am member of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), a senior accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and a registered member of the United Kingdom Association of Humanistic Practitioners (UKAHPP).
My life’s work is dedicated to my brother Michael
Supervising is a core element of the psychotherapeutic practice. I supervise trainee, qualified, accredited, mature and well-seasoned therapists and senior consultants. As well, I have been an examiner for humanistic, integrative, person centred training at Metanoia Institute from Diploma level through Doctorate level. In addition to this, I guide and support qualified therapists through BACP and UKCP accreditation and registration processes, ensuring the client receives the best possible care at all times. This is central to psychotherapy work. Empowering a co-created professional relationship is key – this is where I aim to provide a place where both supervisees and Dr. work in an enlightening, reflective and resourceful manner. Holding up the metaphorical mirror to blind spots in the process is also vital for the best outcome – this happens successfully when the safe, respectful and sensitive atmosphere is supportively in place. It is here where some transformational learning and growing edges in development are attuned.
I have assisted people in overcoming anxiety disorders, depression, relationship challenges, marital and family dynamics, mother/daughter relationships, family constellation reframing, work consultancy, life change adjustments, unconscious infertility and teenage development anxiety. Therapies are offered to families, adults, couples and adolescents dealing with all types of trauma including Boarding School Trauma.
